Being in Shrek

This summer, I got to perform as Mama Bear in Shrek the Musical with Broke Thespians Theater Company. It was such a fun experience and I am so glad I got to be a part of it! I had never performed in an outdoor theater before in a park so it was a very new experience for me. It was fun watching the sun go down as we performed and adapting to having an outdoor area. We had to get creative with supplying water, costume changes, and striking the set every night.

One of the things we got to do as a cast / crew of Shrek was to participate in the San Marcos Annual Mermaid Parade! My father had a Forrest Green truck that was perfect for towing a float with all of us on it. We got to meet other local businesses and other theaters also participating with their own cast / crew of their show. We got to interact with many people singing different songs from the show! It was a very memorable experience!

Overall, I am so glad that I got to be a part of this show and meet so many people that also loved performing. The entire cast was a variety of different ages and going through different stages of their lives but we all came together and made a very exciting and memorable show! I am so grateful that I spent this summer performing on an outdoor stage in a musical!
